	Barbara Brownell NCBTMB(AMTA)MS has an advanced degree in Biology and has been practicing massage therapy in the Northern Virginia area for over 4 years. She graduated from AKS in 1999 and has studied CranioSacral Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Sciatsu, Prenatal massage, La Stone massage therapy, and Ashiatsu oriental Bar Therapy. Barbara is on the Capital Area Sports Massage Therapy Team and has worked with marathon runners, triatheletes, bikers, and many other athletes. Because of her advanced training in so many modalities and background in other health professions she provides increased sensitivity and bodywork awareness to her work. One of her primary goals is to interrupt and reduce pain and tension cycles by analyzing posture and alignment problems and offering specific solutions in the form of corrective exercise techniques.
